Stinky is Back!

The Corpse Flower Blooms

August 11, 2022

Do you love weird things? Does something that smells like a rotting corpse intrigue you? Do long lines not bother you? If you answer yes to these things then there is a special treat for you. One of the corpse flower just bloomed. It is on loan from the botanic garden to the Smithsonian’s Enid A. Haupt Garden. This is right by the Smithsonian castle and across the street from mom’s day job. We went to see it earlier this week before the bloom and then yesterday after it started to bloom. It is hidden away and there was no line either day but yesterday, it was raining fairly hard when we checked it out. When you walk into the garden from Independence Avenue, make a right and it is across from the little waterfall with the seascape. It did smell just like garbage but it is not often that you see a flower that big.

Are stinky flowers not your thing? This week we will tell you about Cirque du Soleil. We were treated to a show recently and it was so much fun. Located at Tysons Corner, it is a very short drive to the show and you are sure to be entertained and amazed by their antics.

We hope you find fun this week whether it is stinky or artful.

Hugs and Love,
