Publisher Note – May 6, 2022

We are back!

By Anita May 6, 2022

We didn’t publish for a couple of weeks. The kid had Spring Break and we spent that time just enjoying things. We had a great time during our break. We didn’t get much rest but we did come back with a renewed freshness for Macaroni Kid.

Dad had obligations during the week. That meant that we cancelled our travel plans and switched to a staycation. Mom and the kid missed dad for the activities that he could not attend but still had a fabulous time.

We spent a night in a hotel at National Harbor. With the water and the sand, it felt like a vacation destination but it was close enough that dad could make his morning meetings while mom and the kid hit the stores including the all-important candy shop. Mom and the kid also rode on the Capital Wheel where mom confirmed that she is in fact afraid of heights.

Upon the suggestion of the kid’s teacher, we also went to the Archives. Dad was able to attend that one with us. That meant that we did take home a replica of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Mom and the kid went to Mount Vernon. In the past month, they have opened up a new museum so it is fun even if you have done it in the past. The kid loved the mansion tour but was not so sure about the peanut soup. That is a try it once type dish that isn’t for everyone.

Mom and the kid also headed out to Great Country Farm. It was an amazing day in the country. The did lots of gem mining, jumping on the pillow, walking around looking at animals, running through mazes, and enjoyed fresh apple cider donuts. Mom even slid down one of the many slides they have. That is a video that we will not be sharing. There is not a CertifiKID for Great Country Farms right now but there might be in the future. It is definitely worth the trip.

Finally, we headed back to our own neighborhood. Today we will tell you about our experience at Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience at the Rhode Island Center. We loved it so much that the kid is begging to go back when dad can also go. And there is a CertifiKID for it.

We are so glad to be back.

Hugs and Love,

Chris and Anita
