Publisher Note – March 31, 2022

Supporting each other

March 30, 2022

We hope you are enjoying the cherry blossoms. It was another spectacular year and is one of those really special things about DC. Mom and the kid walked home from school one day last week and soaked up all the beauty of spring.

On Saturday, mom met up with the publishers of a nearby Macaroni Kid publication. We had such a lovely time having tea in Annapolis. One thing that the publisher said really resonated. “Sometimes people really just need to hear that they are doing a good job.”

Many people have had a rough couple of years. Often, moms were the ones that struggled with work and virtual school and keeping their family healthy. I really encourage you to take a minute this week to tell one of those moms (or dads) that they are really doing a good job.

In talking about how Macaroni Kid publishers can support each other, it also made us think about how we can support small businesses in our own community. If you have a small business or know someone that does let us know at mackiddceast@macaronikid.com. They can be brick and mortar stores, people that provide services such as lawn care, people that have written books and are selling them on-line, or those that are selling things such as nailcare, skincare, or products for the home. The only requirement is that they are based in Northeast DC.

We hope that you have a great weekend.

Hugs and Love,

Chris and Anita
