Everything is coming up pink

March 24, 2022

It’s that time of the year when everything seems to be focused on cherry blossoms. Drink specials, food specials, clothes, races, parades, festivals, contests, you name it, DC turns it into something related to our iconic blooming trees.

Our family loves them too. When the kid was born, we rescheduled our first family photos several times until peak bloom provided the perfect background. Now, driving around, we get excited about our neighborhood cherry blossoms and we cheer on our favorite trees.

We love to drive around the tidal basin just before dark to get a good look at the gift that Japan gave to our city. What we don’t love is the crowds that also want to see those pink beauties.

For those first family photos, we headed to Stanton Park. There were all of the blossoms and not many people. There are so many other places in the city that you can enjoy the finest of the spring without the need to fight the crowds.

We hope you have time to smell the cherry blossoms and get that perfect photo.

Hugs and love,

Chris and Anita
