Free Kids Meals

Treat Yourself and Save Money

By Anita January 26, 2022

We always enjoy going out to eat. When you have kids, it can be hard to do it though. When you go to a restaurant that has a kids eat free special, not only do you save some money but you can be sure that they will welcome your whole family. We checked out two restaurants that fit that bill.

Brookland Pint

The first time we went, we immediately started planning our next meal there. This place is casual enough to be kid friendly but nice enough for a special treat out. Kids eat free here on Tuesday. Adults can nosh on burgers, bowls, or wings. We started with the brussels sprouts and they exceeded our expectations. We will definitely order those again. Mom had hard cider and dad had beer. He could not quite decide on what to order so the amazing waitress brought him samples until he found one that he liked. Kids choices include: hot dogs, chicken fingers, cheese quesadilla, or macaroni and cheese. The meal also comes with a side. The kid had macaroni and cheese with a side of seasonal vegetables. The macaroni and cheese did not come out of a box and did not have unnatural orange powder cheese. This was the kind that grandma would make, just the right amount of gooey yummy cheese. That along with the vegetable were generous portions. It actually fed the kid for two meals.

Things to know:

  • They are located at 716 Monroe Street, NE
  • On Tuesday, you can get up to two kids’ meals, for children under 12 with the purchase of an adult entrée.
  • Dinner is served 5-10 on Tuesday
  • To eat there, adults will need to show proof of vaccination and a photo id
  • This place is fantastic so if you go once, plan to make it a habit

Moe’s Southwest Grill

If you are looking for fast casual dining, Moe’s is the place for you. Burritos, tacos, and quesadillas are all on the menu. Our favorite is the stack. It is like a taco but wrapped and pressed so that it isn’t quite so messy. Kids can get a burrito, called a Mr. Cow; the mini-masterpiece which is a quesadilla; or the power wagon which gives the choice of a hard or soft taco. Each kids’ meal comes with a drink and a cookie. The meals also come with chips and salsa. We highly recommend getting the guacamole and the queso to enjoy with your chips. It is the best thing on the menu.

Things to know:

  • They are located at 1275 1st Street NE
  • Kids under 12 eat free on Sunday from 12-4. One free meal per adult entrée
  • You will need to show proof of vaccination and photo id to eat in the dining room
  • There are various heat levels of salsa available in a cart right past the check out
  • You get a cup for soft drinks and then fill your own at the machine. There are a lot of fun flavors like peach or strawberry soda and refills are free.
