Hunny Bunny Boutique

All Natural Beauty Products

The days are short, cold, and wet right now. Our skin is dry and we felt like we could use a little pampering. One dreary morning we set out to find a cure for the winter doldrums and Hunny Bunny Boutique had the perfect fix.

Hunny Bunny Boutique is located in an adorable little row house at 311 8th Street NE. When we walked in, we were greeted by the most adorable shop keep. On a dark icy and rainy day, we found a bright oasis of beauty products and our problem became choosing what to try.

All of the ingredients are natural and healthy. Many of them are even edible. The products are safe enough for the whole family from the biggest to the smallest. They are also environmentally friendly offering 15% off your purchase when you return your empty jars.

Among the offerings in the store are scrubs, lotions, shampoos, bath products, and deodorizers. The kid was limited to three things even though she wanted the whole store. We opted for the peppermint lip balm. That is likely to end up in mom’s bag. It heals those peeling dry lips with a cheerful peppermint zing to it.

Next up was the tea tree and orange deodorant. This one is perfect for tweens that are just starting to use deodorant. It is made of coconut oil, baking soda, beeswax, arrowroot powder, shea butter, essential oils, and vitamin E. The scent is mild enough that the beginner can put on more than needed without the overpowering smell of commercial deodorants. Yet it does the job, even with a kid that is always on the move.

Our very favorite was the sea clay face mask. It has three ingredients: clay, chamomile, and green tea powder. Mom and the kid love doing facials but were skeptical about this one. You mix one teaspoon of powder into one teaspoon of water. That mixture made enough for both of us. We had such a great time putting it on each other’s faces and we smelled like mom’s favorite cup of tea. It hardened for 10 minutes and then we washed it off. Mom immediately started yelling feel my face. Mom has allergic reactions to everything so dad was very worried. Then he touched her face and her skin was softer than it has been in years. That powder is magic! Three days later it is still soft. You will now be able to find mom and the kid every Sunday evening in their clay masks. Someday we may even share with dad.

Hunny Bunny is open Tuesday – Thursday 10-6, Friday and Saturday 10-7, and Sunday 12-6. They have the perfect gift for almost any occasion but we recommend you pick up something for yourself. Don’t forget to join their loyalty program. It is free and once you try their offerings, you are sure to be back.
