This is a family recipe that is now on it’s at least 4th generation. These simple to make cookies have a fluffier texture than traditional tole house cookies without being cake-like. These are the perfect snack to tuck in a lunch box or for after school.
Ingredients
1 ½ cup sugar
1 cup softened butter
2 eggs
Chocolate chips (grandma just wrote it like that with no measurement but we use about 2 cups)
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 ½ cups flour
1 ¼ teaspoon baking soda
Directions
- Mix all ingredients.
- Bake at 350 degrees until brown (grandma didn’t say how long but ours baked for 15 minutes when using a cookie scoop that holds just over a tablespoon).
- Cool on wire rack.
- Enjoy!
