Mac Kid and Mom were walking down H Street just looking for interesting shops and restaurants that we wanted to try out. When Mac Kid saw the plants in the window of Fresca, she insisted that we eat there. This was a great call on the kid’s part. When we arrived at the patio, it was hard to believe that we were still in DC. There were amazing tropical plants making each individual table feel like a private island oasis. Both of us immediately felt calm and relaxed as soon as we were seated.
Then we ordered our food. Mac Kid has an obsession with guacamole. She can, at times, be a guac snob. After one bite, she declared that it was the best guac in the city. Mom completely agreed. Sitting and eating our meal was one of mom’s favorite parts of the summer. It was so great that dad was invited to join on a future outing.
Unfortunately, on the day that dad joined in the fun, it started to rain very hard so he was not able to enjoy the patio. Although we at inside, we still had an amazing meal. Mom can be as much of a margarita snob as the kid is with guacamole. She also found her best in the city. We tried tacos, quesadillas, and enchiladas. Everything was very good. The Mac family has found their new favorite taco place. The prices are very reasonable so we will be able to enjoy the restaurant at 701 H Street often. They are open from 10-9 Monday – Wednesday and 10-10 Thursday – Saturday.
This place has it all. Good food at a reasonable price, great drinks for kids and adults, and an atmosphere that provides a sanctuary from the city.
